First off, let me just say- Google should have never bought YouTube. It was bad for google, even worse for the YouTube community-

But anyway, Viacom is retarded. I know Craig Ferguson has become extremely popular because of YouTube, and hell, even I think he's funny after seeing his clips. They fail to realize the potential in allowing 10 minute clips of their shows on a website.

I could understand an uproar if you could upload 60 minute episodes, but 10 minutes is the current max, which is a great preview for any show.

It is stupid fir Viacom to sure and I dont think they will win, but Viacom will definitely get something out of it.

YouTube clearly states that your only allowed to upload original content, if you are not authorized to upload a certain clip its basically on your ass. I actually ran into that problem not too long ago. I had uploaded a video that I found in WMA format on another website...shortley there after I received a rather threatening eMail stating that I am required to delete the video and if I dont do so they were going to take legal actions.
