The Simpsons Movie Under Hyped
Posted July 17th, 2007 by Ron Filed Under: UncategorizedWith just a little over two weeks to go until the U.S. premiere of The Simpsons movie in my opinion the Simpsons movie is getting a lot less attention than it deserves. Comercials are running but not nearly as much as they should be. Every other commercial should be a simpsons movie commercial. There are some promotions going on but it seems that they are not creating that much publicity.
For those of you readers who dont know Springfield Vermont is going to be home of the July 22 red carpet movie premiere of the simpsons and may possibly become the official hometown of the Simpsons. Select 7-elevens have been transformed into Quik E Marts and all are participating in selling promotional items such as Squishees, Buzz cola, KrustyO’s and official movie donuts.
There is also a contest which Fox, 7-Eleven and the Post are participating in which you can win a chance to be animated and appear in an episode of the Simpsons as well as 711 other prizes. Microsoft has a contest running in which you can win a Homer designed xbox360.
Fox is running an online poll in which you can vote for your 10 favorite episodes of the Simpsons the 10 most popular picks will air next week to vote log on to MyFox.com. Even myspace has a Simpsons movie profile that you can friend request as well as downloadable backrounds of the Simpsons movie which can be used to personalize your profile
Burger king will also be participating come July 23- August 26 you will be able to get Simpsons movie tie in kids meals that will include a Simpsons movie toy.
There are plenty of Simpsons going ons right now but it almost seems as if nobody cares. I dont know about the masses but I have been a Simpsons fan since 1989 when the Simpsons were nothing more than a two minute sketch on the Tracy Ulman show. I also believe that the Simpsons should be in everyones face between now and the length of time the movie is out in theaters. I also hope that The Simpsons makes it through at least 20 seasons which would be a great milestone. Without the Simpsons we wouldnt have such shows as Futurama, Family Guy and hell I’ll say it even South Park. Without The Simpsons I honestly believe those shows would have never came to fruition.
