The Simpsons Movie Review
Posted July 27th, 2007 by Ron Filed Under: UncategorizedOkay I just got home from seeing a midnight showing of The Simpsons movie. If you ask me for my opinion the movie gets two thumbs up…..way up! The movie was filled with non stop belly laughs. You were lucky if you got thirty seconds between gags to catch your breath. Now the Simpsons movie could and does appeal to hardcore Simpsons fans and the casual viewers. The movie featured a fair share of raunchy jokes that have not been seen in Simpsons episodes since the shows earlier seasons. Such raunchyness included Bart skateboarding in the nude through the town of Springfield in broad day light (when spotted by Ralph Wiggum Ralph says I like men now ) and Homer giving the townsfolk the finger.Spoiler alert.
The plot of the movie is pretty simple. Homer contaminates Springfield lake and creates another radioactive animal like blinky the fish but this time its a squirl. The EPA gets ahold of the creature and brings it to the attention of the president of the United States (Arnold Schwartzanagger).
Springfield is placed under a biodome and Homer is to blame. The townsfolk become enraged and want Homers head. The family manages to escape the dome and the angry mob. Once they escape Homer suggests starting over in Alaska. The family goes through some antics getting to Alaska and find themselfs a new home.
Marge realizes that her home is Springfield and wants to go back and save it. Meanwhile do to the escape of the Sipsons the EPA and president decide its to risky to leave Springfield be and decide to destroy the town and all of its people.
Marge and the family leave Homer to go back to Springfield. Homer realizes he should have went with them and makes his way back to Springfield to save the town.
As I said at the top this movie gets two thumbs up for me. It was Hilarious we actually got some character development from Bart who in the movie you get to realize that he longs for a better father figure. In the very begining of the movie you have grandpa Simpson predict what was going to happen to the town and at the very end of the movie Maggie speaks to what the Simpsons believe to be her first word when in reality it is her second word because in season four episode 69 maggie says daddy: but anyways its the first word that her family gets to hear her say and its sequal.

We got done it for the first time. Not gonna lie, we were pleasantly enough rather suprised. My sister loved it.
My family was kind of disappointed because people hyped the movie a little excessively, They continue to believe the film is a respectable effort. My son loved it . To each their own.
