The Cinema Plug - Spiderman Spoilers, Fantastic Four and Indy
Posted April 19th, 2007 by Gary Filed Under: Uncategorized
Cinema time here at the basement. The anticipation for the big summer comic films continues to build this week. More and more news has leaked.
Everyone’s favorite hero, including mine, Spiderman is still generating such a big buzz as we near the May 4th release. I even went out and purchased Spiderman 2.1 on Tuesday.
A review isn’t really necessary for the new DVD, considering their is only 8 minutes of never before seen footage. One extra scene that clearly should not have been cut featured Mary Jane speaking about love in a coffee shop with a friend. The dialogue is very powerful, as MJ reveals that maybe she truly isn’t in love with her fiance, John Jameson. If you haven’t already bought the first edition, then you should definitely run out and pick this up. Not just comic fans, but all movie fans can enjoy the film.
So anyway, back to Spiderman 3, Ain’t It Cool News has all the spoilers and reviews you can ask for up on their site. The film has been making it’s screening rounds, and most reviews are pretty positive. Though it doesn’t look like the film will be paraded by critics like Spiderman 2 was. Check the link out if you want to spoil yourself. I already did. And all I can say is — John Travolta, eat your heart out.

- A bunch of Fantastic Four rumors were killed today, as Dark Horizons reports. Fanboys were claiming that Matrix star, Laurence Fishburne was playing the voice of Galactus in the sequel. Fox officially came out to debunk the claim.
“Laurence Fishburne is officially the voice of the Silver Surfer and not the voice of Galactus, as some other fan sites have stated.”
Sorry kids.
- RottenTomatoes.com is reporting that the Joker in Christopher Nolan’s Batman sequel will be a bit more “raggedy” and “scary” in the darker picture. They seem to be straying away from the comedic and campy Nicholson style. I guess as long as he still has a sinister humor, then the fanboys will be kept at bay. I’m still shaky on whether Heath Ledger can pull the character off though.
Since “Batman Begins” seemed to follow the darker Frank Miller type stories, I’m assuming they will try to portray the Joker character the same way Miller did.

The studio will release an official picture soon, to prevent the “spy photos”, but above is a snap of how the Joker looked in the “The Dark Knight Returns” graphic novel by Frank Miller.

I gotta admit, I was ecstatic that Ledger was cast as the Joker. I think he’s dark enough to pull it off, but I might be biased since I didn’t care for Nicholson’s joker at all. Check out “The Order” if you have any doubts on Ledger’s ability.
RIP heath, he did an incredible job for sure.
Christopher is the director who movie.super. DiCaprio stars. I need to say you the true statement, it was worthy the wait.Batman Begins
