Staten Island - Enough is Enough!

This post is not normal for us GB writers, but the situation is getting out of hand at what is happening in the wealthiest borough of New York. Day in and day out Staten Island, especially the SI Mall is becoming infested with unruly disrespectful teens. Times are changing and the people of Staten Island are fed up,and the city government take little action.

Don’t get me wrong the NYPD is spread thin on Staten Island and can’t cover as much ground as they need be. We are in desperate need of another Precinct. But the city government can do something to help alleviate the situation and get the Curfew Law passed. Parents should also learn how to raise their children and teach them to be respectful instead of being brats and animals.

Case in point. When these teenagers are dropped off at the SI Mall their parents think its a good babysitter for them. There should be a curfew applied to the SI Mall that doesn’t allow children under the age of 18 there after 5pm. The businesses in the mall are hurting do to the adults not wanting to shop because of the unruly teenagers. There are at least an average of 3 to 5 fights a week at the SI Mall and the weeks that school is out during the winter that number almost doubles. Just tonight a woman came in with a metal bat and started swinging it because someone she knew was “supposedly” going to be jumped. The sock stand on the upper level was damaged and an older woman that accompanied the woman with the bat was injured. EMT came to take her to the hospital. On top of it all the woman was not arrested. I don’t now the law very well but isn’t that an attempted assault with a deadly weapon or at least arrest her for damaging private property.

This can all be prevented if you goddamn lazy parents would raise your kids right and if the city took action and instituted a curfew system, especially for the SI Mall. Im sick and tired of seeing what animals these kids are becoming, and I know for a fact it is a lot worse then when I was growing up.

Staten Island is no longer the wealthiest borough, it is now known as the wealthiest ghetto.

Any concerned islanders can contact the Borough President here and General Growth Properties (GGP owner of the SI Mall) here.

Google Reader Mobile - Still Broken

Posted January 23rd, 2008 by Anthony Filed Under: Uncategorized

Now that Google Reader Mobile has been updated to work better on the iPhone there are still some problems that need to be addressed, and hopefully Google will recognize them and create a fix for it. Check out my original article here.

Digg Links still do not open when someone clicks on “see original.” When other feeds besides digg do load after clicking on “see original” they load in Google’s scales down mobile format. But for us iPhone and iPod Touch users we want to click “see original” and have it load to the actual original HTML site, not the scaled down one. I know this is not really iPhone specific, so users on other mobiles would want the scaled down site to save time, but we do not need that on the iPhone.

Please Google can we fix these problems?

Everyones favorite companies are caught in the biggest Ponzi Scheme (Pyramid Scheme) ever created. With the record earnings of Apple’s 1st Quarter results their stock has dropped by $28 at the time of this posting. Does that make any sense to any of you. How can a company report there best quarter ever and still have their stock drop?

According to Dave Pollard of How to save the world the stock market is just a big Ponzi Scheme. To learn more about what a Ponzi Scheme is check out his site here or visit the wikipedia page here. Read the rest of this entry »

How Many Bites?

Posted January 19th, 2008 by Anthony Filed Under: Uncategorized

Last night I stumbled upon this funny site. The premise for the site is about how many bites it takes this particular person to eat something. Oddly enough it was quite entertaining. So get ready people, and place your bets. How many bites do you think he can eat this burger in.

Check out the video below. And if your interested in seeing more head on over here.

Macbook Air Haters?

Posted January 16th, 2008 by Anthony Filed Under: Uncategorized

I have read a lot of negative comments about the Air recently even though almost none of you have actually used it yet. What I am hearing is complaints about battery, no ethernet port, the lack of multiple USB ports, no optical drive.

What I am not hearing is that how many of you people actually use all of these items everyday in your notebooks. I for one, never use my optical drive, most of you have desktops and they all have optical drives anyways (remote drive, easy fix). I only use one USB port at a time anyways and a USB hub is an easy fix. I only uses the ethernet port when I am transferring big files between computers, and I can just buy the adapter if I need it. Its a digital world people, and physical media is almost dead.

You buy a notebook for portability and the lighter and thinner the better. If u use all these options constantly and you don’t take your laptop out of your house then you should just buy a desktop. If you are a mobile person and carry your notebook everywhere then you don’t practice in the habit of carrying around multiple devices to plug into your notebook at any given time during the day. If you carry a second battery, well the 5 hour battery life is enough to supplement a second battery.

So if you buy a notebook as a desktop replacement then just get a desktop, if you want a nice portable notebook than the Air is for you. Remember boys and girls the EEE PC has been one of the most fastest selling sub notebooks in history, ASUS is making a killing. But it has a down side, no Mac OS X, so the Air is the best next option and the Pros it offers out weighs the Cons that all of you are bitching about.

Leave me some comments let me know what you all think, and use logic, not stupidity people.
