Open Letter to Nintendo

Dear Nintendo,
You are adored by millions, your games and consoles started our lives with video games for many of us. We respect you more than any of your competitors. Though there is a problem. You are still not progressing technologically the way you should be.
The Wii is an amazing console. It’s innovative and fun, and even though it lacks the graphics power of the PS3 or Xbox 360 its still # 1. I’m not writing this to tell you to get with the graphics, because its not about graphics if your games are fun and entertaining, which they are. No I’m writing this to tell you to get with the technology, something that would serve you and many others just as equally.
The first thing is how you are way behind in internet connectivity and online game play. Sure its free, and it works, but its no where near the the experience the Xbox 360 provides. Hell I rather pay if I can get a similar online experience. Oh and the friend codes have to go, nuff said.
The next thing is something your close to but I don’t think you see it as a business model, I think currently you see it as a thorn in your side. DS game copiers, and emulators. You just busted a bunch of people in Hong Kong for mod chips and DS game copiers. I understand where you are coming from with the mod chips, I have no quarrels there. But you are missing out on a lucrative business model. Especially since it will revolve around what your currently doing with the Wii.
Your on the right track to what I’m proposing. You already have the virtual console up and running and successful, and you just announced the Wii to DS demo wireless thing (by the way welcome to 2007 Nintendo). Now all you have to do is expand on those two principles. Take one of the DS copiers (M3 for example) and buy them. Retrofit there software and emulator to work with yours, or create a new one from the ground up. Then take the DS demo thing and take it a step further, allow full downloads to the DS copier device (which you have locked down now, of course) if the customer likes the game. Wow easy, simple and it will make a lot of the on the go DS users happy. Especially since most DS users are on the go. Oh and don’t stop there. Allow the DS copier device to store multiple games using a micro sd expansion card. And to top it all off allow the transfer of the virtual console games which the DS can support NES, SNES, GENESIS, etc. (with a small extra fee of course).
Wow now you will have an amazing delivery content tool that is already in millions of households and with many more to come. And since there are over 50 million DS’s sold already you have millions to sell this to.
Think about it for a little bit, you know I’m right. And it saves your behinds from the pirates while boosting your sales at the same time. Cause one of the reasons these people pirate is not because its free, but because its quick and easy.
Sincerely,
The Garysbasment Staff
P.S. Look into Wi-max its gonna be a new wireless revolution and its something that you should think about adding to your next DS. Check out Xohm.
