Macbook Air Haters?
Posted January 16th, 2008 by Anthony Filed Under: UncategorizedI have read a lot of negative comments about the Air recently even though almost none of you have actually used it yet. What I am hearing is complaints about battery, no ethernet port, the lack of multiple USB ports, no optical drive.
What I am not hearing is that how many of you people actually use all of these items everyday in your notebooks. I for one, never use my optical drive, most of you have desktops and they all have optical drives anyways (remote drive, easy fix). I only use one USB port at a time anyways and a USB hub is an easy fix. I only uses the ethernet port when I am transferring big files between computers, and I can just buy the adapter if I need it. Its a digital world people, and physical media is almost dead.
You buy a notebook for portability and the lighter and thinner the better. If u use all these options constantly and you don’t take your laptop out of your house then you should just buy a desktop. If you are a mobile person and carry your notebook everywhere then you don’t practice in the habit of carrying around multiple devices to plug into your notebook at any given time during the day. If you carry a second battery, well the 5 hour battery life is enough to supplement a second battery.
So if you buy a notebook as a desktop replacement then just get a desktop, if you want a nice portable notebook than the Air is for you. Remember boys and girls the EEE PC has been one of the most fastest selling sub notebooks in history, ASUS is making a killing. But it has a down side, no Mac OS X, so the Air is the best next option and the Pros it offers out weighs the Cons that all of you are bitching about.
Leave me some comments let me know what you all think, and use logic, not stupidity people.

To all Macbook Air Haters:
I just find it interesting that most of you are windows users and would find something bad to say about any Mac product. Its a road warrior device, not ur typical notebook, it plays towards a niche, just like the iphone. iphone equals smartphone (not all cellphones), Macbook Air equals sub notebook style device but in a more user friendly package. Its not like Apple is forcing u to buy this notebook and only this notebook. If its not for you then buy one of their other notebooks, if your a windows user then your input really doesn’t matter because you just don’t get it. So instead of being insufferably whining babies who haven’t even used one yet, just shut up and keep your asinine opinions to yourselves.
I use Vista and Ubuntu and I work as an IT Consultant by day and a Web Developer by night. I think the Air is a beautifully crafted notebook. It would be nice to add a Mac notebook to my arsenal of testing platforms for my web development.
I would like it to have an ethernet port because I hate wireless sometimes, but I will survive without it or I will get the optional ethernet adapter - no big deal.
@Anthony - I dont see anyone here whining so I am not sure who you are yelling at.
It was just a preemptive measure, lol.
I’m really excited about getting my own Macbook!
