Top Ten Best #songsincode Tweets
Posted August 21st, 2009 by Danny M Filed Under:If you are not a frequent Twitter user, or are unfamiliar with Twitter, then you’ve probably been living on another planet. For those few extra terrestrials still out there, let me give you a very very brief description of what the the Twitter Trending Topics are. Trending Topics are composed of the most commonly “tweeted” words or phrases in a given time. Hash tagged topics have become the norm on Twitter as it makes it easier to search for, and within the past 24 hours, the greatest hash tagged topic known to twitter was born.
#songsincode has taken over the Twitterverse and I’ve composed a list of the 10 best:
10. you.echo(”yes\n”); this.echo(”no\n”); you.echo(”stop\n”); this.echo(”go go go\n”); you.echo(”goodbye\n”); this.echo(”hello\n”) - There can never be enough Beatles in my life.
9. if(youAre == 0×000000 || youAre==0xffffff) doesMatter = false; - Of course with the recent passing of MJ, there are tons of Michael songs on Twitter right now, but this one was the best. For those who couldn’t figure this one out, 0×000000 is the hex color code for black, and 0xffffff is white. You’ll get the rest!
8. if (!DoForLove.Anything || DoForLove.That) { throw new WontDoException(); - Ahh yes, Meatloaf.
7. if (self.age? == 64) { assert (you.still_need? me); assert (you.will_feed? me) } - The Beatles Rock Band comes out 09/09/09, I wonder if When I’m 64 will be on it.
6. if($girls == ‘fat bottom’){ $rockin = new World; $rockin->goRound(); } - I wonder if Brian May can translate this for us.
5. if ($im > $sexy){ –$shirt; $sexy = hurts();} my $love = ($im > $sexy) ? $im : love.leave(me); - Right Said Fred? Did anyone know the artist prior to me telling you?
4. do { writeLoveSong(you) } while(!you.asked() && !you.need() && !you.tell(this, “make or break”) && you.getAll()==this) - God I hate this song, but I love the code.
3. while(false) { give(you,up); let(you,down); run(new Circle()); desert(you); you.cry(); say(”goodbye”); lie(); you.hurt();} - You had to know you were going to get “Rick Rolled” via code eventually.
2. .wine { background-color: #ff0000; color:#ff0000; position: absolute; top: 0;} - Personally I think the positioning should be relative. P.S. Neil Diamond FTW!
1. .clowns{float:left;} .jokers{float:right}; #me_you{position:fixed;margin:0 auto;width:100%} - This was prefectly executed, and retweeted by just about anyone who was watching the #songsincode meem. A tip of the hat to Christian Heilmann, aka @codepo8 for being an amazing code composer.
