I have been a WWE fan since I was a tot watching Hulk Hogan wrestle for the WWE which at the time was actually called the WWF.For those readers who dont know World Wrestling Entertainent (WWE) was originally World Wrestling Federaton (WWF) until they lost a law suit over the name/initials which were copyrighted by World WildLife foundation.
Wrestling is a form of entertainment. Its matches are coreographed but the actions taken in the ring are extremely physical. It is a Soap opera for guys; With out there stories and characters. The stories are usually funny, patriotic and/or the kind that make you want to see one guy kick the others ass.
Now unfortunetly there have been wrestlers who have died (for real) in their prime such as Owen Heart and the late Eddie Guerrero. Now when those events took place it was necessary for the for the show to go on to adress these unfortunate events.
What normally takes place after the passing of a wrestler is a tribute show. This is a great thing where there are highlights of matches and matches dedicated to the late wrestler. Now unfortunatly after Eddie Guerrero passed Vince Mcahon continued to use Eddie’s death in storyline but thats not what this article is about.
Last weeks Monday night raw’s featured Vince McMahon apprectiation night which in reality the episode was the opposite; Wrestlers and actors ragged on Mr McMahon through the whole show. The show ended out with Mr Mcahon walking out to his limo entering it to leave followed by the limo blowing up after he shuts the door.
As soon as the show went off the air the WWE website’s head line is Mr McMahon presumed dead. Its blaitently obvious that this is a stunt done to attract viewers and create publicity.
Its sad that this is whats done to get ratings. Vince McMahon is not dead yet this past Monday a memorial show was done for him. Also there is most likely going to be an ongoing storline surrounding his death. Its going to be a who done it in the WWE story.
Yes wrestling is just like a soap opera but with this story of Mr McMahon being blown up killed murdererd however you want to put it; its too much. It hits too close with nerves. I dont think playing the death card in wrestling when its fiction is called for its sad enough you have actual deaths in wrestling.
Vince McMahon is a cut throat promoter who will stop at nothing to get ratings and make money but not unlike the XFL I have this question to ask has Vince Mcahon gone too far? I think so.

I love xkcd web comics, and I’ve been waiting to find a gem that we could feature in our weekly webcomic spotlight. The most recent comic, by the genius Randall Munroe, is presented above.
“xkcd” has become one of the most popular web comics on the net, as it ties humor, science, and geek culture in a minimalistic art style that just adds to the comedy (They’re damn stick figures).
Here’s a list of some of my favorite comics of his (after the jump).

Penny Arcade presents this week’s Basement web comic. It reminds us how badly Microsoft is exploiting their most profitable franchise, Halo. Rumor has it that Microsoft may finally start seeing a profit from their Gaming division thanks to the little Master Chief that could. But we still can’t understand why Fox and Universal would back out of the cash cow picture that “HALO: TeH M0VIEZ” would have become…
Anyway, you have until June 10th to play through the Halo 3 beta…. which regretfully, I haven’t played yet. But ya know, with all the ways their trying to generate revenue from this game, I’m pretty sure I can quench my Halo thirst somewhere else. And instead of spending this time playing a Halo 3 beta, I’m going to work a second job to save for the epic $130 Halo 3 Legendary Edition.

I have been looking for a good streaming radio or play list site for a while now. I know their are tons of streaming radio stations out there, but not a lot of them meet my requirements. For starters I mostly listen to streaming music when I am at work. Since my work computer is locked down as far as installing apps I run into some problems.
There are two music sites I’m researching right now. One is the newly redesigned Lala.com. This site scans your local iTunes tracks and then you have the ability to listen to those tracks anywhere if they have them available on their servers. Good idea, but some songs use windows media, and since the computer is locked down, this doesn’t help. Also Lala wants you to use their player, their player is simple and nice, but I can’t install that either. Read the rest of this entry »

Once again, it is Monday, and as always, it means that it is time to shine the Basement spotlight on another artist who didn’t quite get the recognizing he truly deserved.
