JV and Elvis FIRED - CBS Radio Is Officially Insane

Posted May 13th, 2007 by Gary Filed Under: Uncategorized

The Dog House

In the wake of the Don Imus scandal, my favorite radio show has been pulled from the air. JV and Elvis (The Dog House) have been fired from CBS Radio because of a prank call they made to a Chinese Food restaurant. Ridiculous.

I never listened to talk radio at all until I started listening to these guys. I was lucky enough to have a break in between my college classes for their time slot, and I listened every morning. It was a daily habit, and something I looked forward to.

Good job CBS Radio. I swear I’m removing Free FM from my saved stations. I will not be listening to it anymore. As if radio wasn’t struggling enough, now you’re going to pull every show that’s just a bit controversial (but incredibly entertaining)? And other then the pressure from Asian-American groups, I don’t really think advertisers were pulling away from one of their most popular shows. It’s not like their suspension garnered national attention like the Don Imus scandal.

Yahoo News Reports-

NEW YORK - One month after CBS Radio fired radio host Don Imus, it has permanently pulled the plug on a pair of suspended New York shock jocks for a prank phone call rife with offensive Asian stereotypes.

“The Dog House with JV and Elvis,” hosted by Jeff Vandergrift and Dan Lay, “will no longer be broadcast,” CBS Radio spokeswoman Karen Mateo said Saturday.

The cancellation of the show on WFNY-FM, nearly three weeks after the hosts were suspended, was another indication of the increased scrutiny on radio hosts and the heightened management sensitivity to complaints in the wake of the Imus firing.

*And please, sign this petition to SAVE THE DOGHOUSE. Hopefully the two can at least find a new home to air their show.*

Hit the break to listen to the prank call that they were banned for. It’s hilarious. CBS should grow a pair and try to defend free speech a little. It’s the only thing radio had left. And at this rate, everyone in talk radio will be fired.

PGR 4 Gameplay Footage!

Posted May 10th, 2007 by Danny M Filed Under: Uncategorized

It’s summer time already, normally I would be outside in the nice weather cleaning my car 3 days a week, but right now im sitting on mustard yellow donut and I dont have the cash to fix it up.  So I turn to my only alternative, video games.

So anyway, getting back on topic,  Bizarre and Microsoft have relased there first official gameplay footage video today of the fourth chapter in Project Gotham Racing.

To be honest with you, I’m not noticing much of a difference in PGR4 versus PGR3.  The rain drops look pretty cool rolling of the side window, but who the hel cares about that?  Hopefully they can make up for it with some kick ass cars, and by the looks of things, we will have Ferrari’s galore!  Take a look for yourself below:

As of right now there isn’t a release date set yet.

For those of you who dont know “The Simpsons Movie” will be opening up in theaters across North America Friday July 27th 2007. But thats not news unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past six months; heres what is.

Today E.A. has announced that they are producing an all new Simpsons game for Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, DS and PSP. Not much is known about the new Simpsons title other than the fact that it does not follow the movie’s story line and it does feature a two player co-op play mode. Also in relation to the Simpsons movie Microsoft has made 100 limited edition Simpsons movie Xbox 360 consoles. The consoles will be given away through various competitions that lead up to the movie release in July.

Season Ten’s release date has been made official. The Simpsons season ten will be released August 7th 2007. The cover will complete the family head set as this time the cover is Bart’s head. You can expect plenty of extras in season ten such as deleted scenes and commentary.

As I have mentioned in a prior post Mcfarlane toys has the Simpsons license. Mcfarlane toys will be producing the Simpsons movie toys. If you go to Spawn.com you can actually take a glimpse at some of them. Look for more Simposons related news here as it comes.
